Hand-Stabilisation, Framing and Composition.
13-00 till 16-00 Deconstruct and critique of a 2 minute section of a film you have made, looking
at your footage , camera angles, shot selection, creative technique. Shot listing /
pre-production planning. Plan and construct shooting sequences to tell your
story visually, maximise the effective use of your footage in the edit suite.

review, Mixers and tricks, Radio mic's +others.
13-00 till 14-00 -Recording sound professionally "Hands on Workshop"
14-00 till 15-00- Examination of attendees problems with own sound recordings
15-00 till 16-00- Professional tricks on sound recording. Levels, postproduction, Notes on recording activity.

A director and cinematographer, Neil has been lighting for 15 years on a wide range of short and feature-length productions. His recent credits include "The First Musketeer", a period web series shot in the south of France, and the upcoming Midlands feature film "The Deaths of John Smith". He shares his filmmaking experiences on neiloseman.com

11:00till12:00- Three point lighting
13:00 till13:30 -Hard light and soft light
13:30 till14:30- Using colour and creating depth
14:30 till15:00- Moulding natural light
15:00 till16:00- Simulating firelight and other sources
Participants can bring along clips from their films, or script extracts from projects they are preparing, so that Neil
can critique and advise on the use of lighting.

Generic Editing Workshop, 12th April, 2014 (mentor, James Rupp)
In the UK television industry for over 15 years. Throughout his career he has worked across a wide range of genres from factual entertainment, current affairs to documentaries. As editor he is often tasked with formatting style and structure for new series for all the major broadcasters. In 2005 he formed his own production company. To date, several shows he's been involved with have received RTS Awards.

10-30 till 11-00-Discussion on objectives behind editing and how to achieve them.
11.15 till 12-00- Professional techniques on problem solving including music, when to apply an effect etc
13-00 till 14-00- How professionals utilise all their material.
14-00 till 15-00-Structuring edits and using visual cues to explain the narrative. Telling the story.
15-00 till 16-00 Developing alternative styles to work. Open Q & A to address issues encountered.

Michael is a double BAFTA award winning film maker, whose short Brown Paper Bag won best short film in 2004. His film Hiding Place also won a children's BAFTA in the same year. Since 1994 Michael has directed documentaries, drama and gallery installations for Channel 4, BBC, Channel 5, UK Film Council, The Arts Council and Screen WM.
